Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about mobile exterior detailing across Albany, Saratoga Springs, Schenectady, Troy, and the rest of the Capital Region — pricing, process, services, and our winters. Still stuck? Get a quote and just ask.
General
What is mobile detailing?
We bring professional exterior detailing to you. Instead of dropping your car at a shop, we arrive at your home with our own water, equipment, and products and do the work in your driveway, garage, or carport.
Do you service all Capital Region towns?
Yes — Albany, Saratoga Springs, Schenectady, Troy, Clifton Park, Latham, Colonie, Queensbury, Glens Falls, and Lake George, plus the towns in between. If you're close and unsure, just ask.
How quickly can you arrive?
Usually same-week, and often same-day depending on the season. Summer and spring book up fastest, so reach out early.
Are you insured?
Yes.
Pricing
How much does it cost?
It depends on your vehicle, its paint condition, and the service. Our pricing page lists real ranges for exterior detailing, ceramic coating, and correction & polish, and we send a firm quote before any work.
Are there hidden fees?
No. The only add-on is a small travel zone fee for Lake George, Queensbury, and Glens Falls, and we quote it upfront. The rest of the Capital Region has no travel charge.
Any discounts?
We bundle correction with ceramic, run a spring NY Winter Protection deal, and discount a second vehicle. December–March is quietest, so it's the best time to ask about scheduling.
Process
Do you need water and electricity?
We bring our own water, equipment, and products. The one thing we need from you is access to a standard 120V power outlet within reach of where the car is parked.
Where should I park?
At your home — a private driveway, garage, or carport. We work at residential properties only, not offices, public lots, or the street.
Does my car need to be washed first?
Yes. Please arrive freshly washed; a standard automatic wash (Hoffman Car Wash, for example) is enough so we can go straight to correction and protection.
Do I need to be home?
Not necessarily, as long as we can reach the car and a power outlet. We'll confirm the details when you book.
Services
Do you clean interiors?
No. We're exterior and paint protection specialists only — no vacuuming, shampooing, or odor, stain, and pet-hair removal. The only interior surface we touch is door jambs, as ceramic prep.
What's the difference between paint correction and waxing?
Wax adds a temporary protective layer on top of the paint. Paint correction machine-polishes away swirls and scratches in the clear coat itself, so the finish actually looks new — it's the right foundation before a coating.
How long does ceramic coating last?
Depending on the tier, 2 to 10 years. We assess the paint first and tell you honestly whether correction is needed before coating.
Can you coat a Tesla, Porsche, or other premium car?
Just about any vehicle, new or used. We match the prep and coating to the paint.
Capital Region & winter
Can you detail in Capital Region winters?
Yes — correction and ceramic run year-round in our heated bay. Winter is actually the best time to protect paint before the worst of the salt.
How does NY road salt affect my paint?
Salt and sand are abrasive and corrosive — they dull paint and start rust at any chip. A ceramic coating makes a car far easier to rinse clean between storms and shrugs off salt.
Do you service Lake George?
Yes, including boat detailing at the slip or dock. A small northern-zone travel fee applies, quoted upfront.
